I currently have a John Deere 466 rounds baler. Love how it takes the hay but I am sure getting sick of the net wrap issues. It keeps wrapping the rubber roll in net wrap box. Sometimes every bale sometimes ever 4 or 5.On the 499 take top cap off at pivot. Drive a tire iron under tongue at pivot end so it will ride up over stops . You will need to load at a bank or dock. Hauled many 499 with hitch at 90 degree . Was still to wide for bridges etc . I think you will find that on 489/492, but it can be done .A gooseneck like yours usually weighs 4,000-5,000 lbs. so you are probably 4,000-5,000 lbs over weight. IF the trailer were sitting un attached in a field, BUT in reality, the trailer is attached to your truck. The truck could bear anywhere from 1-25% of the trailer weight depending on how you load it.

Our closest NH dealer carries just about every model except the new 300 series. If you generally get your hay pretty dry (24% or less), a inline is mighty hard to beat. My cost averages close to a $1 per bale for Ambraco edge to edge for 4'X64'' diameter rd balls wrapping with 2 revolutions of wrap. I normally get a little over 320 bales per roll of wrap.Wrap pre-season cost $300 & during hay season $340.I am very pleased with my tractor. Thank you for your input. Over the years Ive had FIVE Zetors (7745 - 3340 - 9520 - 9641 & Prox 90) and all in all I couldn't be more satisfied. We did need to have the 7745 overhauled years back but even after that we kept on buying them.
